Arsenal will be looking to offload Mesut Ozil sooner rather than later, but as for a replacement, here are three easy reasons it’s Emile Smith Rowe.

Arsenal‘s most perplexing question circles around the future of Mesut Ozil. The German playmaker is now rumored to be stuck at the club for another year with an eye on a free transfer next summer, since the Gunners are either unwilling or unable to offload him this summer for any kind of profit.

That’s troubling, but what’s even more troubling is we will probably still need to sign a replacement seeing as how he can’t be counted on to do the job anymore. But without The way cleared, getting a replacement might be tough. Or hell, maybe it’ll be easier. So much of the Ozil situation is out of the ordinary.

Regardless, what we need is to talk about a replacement, but in light of far too many factors, we turn to Emile Smith Rowe as a potential solution. In fact, here are three reasons why he’s the perfect replacement for what’s needed right now.

We start with No. 3.

3. He’s free

Gah! I know, I try not to use this as a reason for anything, But given that Ozil might have to wait another year and still fetch no return on investment next year, the fact that we could feasibly replace him for free is all I need to hear. There are names like Jack Grealish and Dominik Szoboszlai, but both, unfortunately, cost money.

Emile Smith Rowe is on loan at Huddersfield Town and to get him back and into the Ozil role, competing with Ozil for that starting job, would be a hidden solution. Even if it is kinda half-arsing it, given that Ozil can’t be replaced properly if he’s still in the squad.

It’s positive maddening, hearing about all the money we don’t have this coming transfer window, and how much that could affect our prospects for next season. But it’s not like I’d be kicking myself if this financial kerfuffle allowed us to see more of Emile Smith Rowe.

On to No. 2.
