Arsenal will be looking for a new central midfielder in the coming months. Here are three reasons why Jack Grealish is worth whatever is necessary.
This week, I wrote a piece outlining three players Arsenal should strongly consider as replacements for creative midfielder Mesut Ozil. I named Emile Smith Rowe, Lyon’s Houssem Aouar, and AAK Gent’s Jonathan David, each of which I still believe are superb options that the Gunners should explore. But then, after the piece published, I realised I missed off the one player who is perfect Ozil replacement, Jack Grealish. I have no reason for this. I simply forgot.
So, to make up for the error, here are three reasons why Grealish is worth whatever is necessary to prise him away from Aston Villa.
3. He is Premier League experienced
The three candidates I proposed as possible Mesut Ozil replacements all lack in Premier League experience. Only Emile Smith Rowe has played in the division before, and even then, it is in an extremely limited manner — he has made one Premier League start in his entire career. Grealish, however, has ample experience in England’s top flight.

Grealish does not just have experience, however. He has proven that he can flourish in the Premier League. Grealish has been one of the best players in the division this season. If it were not for his inimitable presence, Aston Villa would be in a great deal more trouble than they already are. He has singlehandedly made them competitive.
But more than just general success, Grealish has specifically displayed his aptitude to deal with the unique difficulties of the Premier League. He has bulked up. His legs are all sinew and strength. He relishes the physical battle. He fights for the ball, and then allies this with supreme technical ability. Grealish will not shy away from the challenges of the Premier League.
