Arsenal have several superb young players breaking into the first-team squad. Here are the top three who are most ready to start regularly.

More than any time that I can remember, Arsenal have a crop of youngsters that they can genuinely build their future around. At centre-back, central midfield, both wing positions, and centre-forward, they have at least one young prospect who is ready to break into the first team and start at the position for the next decade. But which are the most prepared to start on a regular basis right now?

Here are the top three young players at the club who are the readiest to be a member of the starting XI.

3. Gabriel Martinelli

Gabriel Martinelli has been sensational in his first season in north London. 10 goals in all competitions, the second-highest scorer in the entire squad, one of the most exciting seasons in recent memory at just 18 years of age, heralded for his talent, attitude and potential. Martinelli is the future.

But he might also be the present. Especially when starting as a centre-forward, the Brazilian has been a menace. His pressing is relentless, his work immensely hard with and without the ball, he is always on the move, and he has that unteachable knack of knowing where the chance is going to fall.

Martinelli is also comfortable in tight spaces. He can receive the ball to feet, is a capable dribbler to protect the ball from defenders, and knows how to play a larger role in the team’s attack than just sticking the ball in the back of the net. He is a more complete striker than many teenagers. That makes him ready to play.
