One of Aouar and Partey in is good business. We are definitely not at the top end of the table with just one but at least we’ll inch upwards.
The absolutely critical thing is to get outs in order.
Currently we have at least five players who, for all practical purposes, aren’t even properly in the club: Ozil, Guendouzi, Torreira, Mustafi, Sokratis. Then we have Chambers, Kolasinac, and Elneny who may or may not part of the long term plans. Cebellos is on loan this season, but it’s unclear how much he will cost next season.
On top of this, a long term injury to one of Leno, Tierney and Bellerin causes an immediate crisis in that position as we have no reliable back ups: Cedric has barely featured and Mari has only played one game.
Of course we don’t have money to buy new players. We won’t until we start cleaning house properly.
