Seriously. His passing has improved massively. While he’s still playing the ball side to side, it’s with more conviction and purpose. His drive to pass the ball and immediately move into space to receive it back, to then move forward into space is not a trait I’ve associated with Elneny. He looks more confident in his ability to take players on, as well as receive the ball in tight/risky areas where he can receive, pass, and move. That kind of confidence comes with playing regularly as he had done at Besiktas.
Albeit this is one game, and a charity shield match at that. But as you mentioned it was vs a decently strong Liverpool side.
