I’m honestly okay with stringing this along to try to get the most we can for Torreira and then triggering the RC on Partey on deadline day to stick it to Atleti.

Atleti’s hypocrisy in dealing with this transfer (give us your players on cheap/loan, but RC or fuckoff for Partey), and the crass attitude that they’re supporters have been treating us with has rubbed me the wrong way at this point. Call me butthurt (I can acknowledge that I’m being petty here), but if they’re truly unwilling to negotiate at all, we’re well within our rights to trigger the RC last minute.
