The stats paint a pretty picture for Arteta and how far he’s taken us : Gunners

Losses:

City (A) 3-0.

A decent start crumbles with Mari’s injury and Luiz cameo consisting of two errors leading to goal and a sending off. City’s bags the last goal in the final few minutes.

Tottenham (A) 1-2

A great Lacazette opener, but we end up tasting our own medicine and Tottenham soak up pressure and hit us on the counter.

Chelsea (H) 1-2

At 1-0 up Jorginho should have been sent off by Pawson, who amazingly doesn’t show the Italian a second yellow. 7 minutes later Jorginho equalizes, before Abraham scores the winner.

Draw

Chelsea (A) 2-2

Luiz is sent off after a Mustafi mistake and we somehow get away with 2-2 thanks to that run from our own box by Martinelli. Bellerin secures the point in the last minute, after Chelsea have gone 2-1 up by the rare offside goal after VARs introduction.

Wins

Manchester United (H) 2-0

Easy win over United through goals from Sokratis and Pepe in the first half.

Liverpool (H) 2-1

Two Liverpool-mistakes and we claw it back from 0-1 down against already Champions, Liverpool. Martinez masterclass too.

Man City (N) 2-0

Perhaps our best game under Arteta. We soak up City’s pressure, which amounts to a bunch of crosses turned away by Luiz in top form. Down the other end we give the ball to Aubameyang a few times.

Chelsea (N) 2-1

Perhaps our best game under Arteta. We soak up Chelsea’s pressure, which amounts to a bunch of crosses turned away by a defense in top form. Down the other end we give the ball to Aubameyang a few times and comes back from 0-1 down.

Liverpool (N) 1-1 (5-4p)

There should really be a “(H)” outside our games at Wembley. After Aubameyang’s fine, early opener is cancelled out by Minamino with 15 minutes to go, we take the game in pens.
