Left footed CB who can play LB makes sense. Can sell Kolasinac though his wages are far too high. Trouble is what do we do at CB? Luiz will stay as Arteta loves his personality. Sokratis is probably the most likely to leave so we’d have Luiz, Mustafi, Holding, Chambers Mari, Sarr and Saliba. Out of those you’d sell Mustafi first, but he probably won’t have a buyer. It’s even more annoying that Mari got injured as we didn’t get to find out more about him.

I think we forget Chambers for the foreseeable future as we know from Holding and Bellerin how long the ACL recovery actually is. Holding could probably do with a loan as he needs the minutes and I’m not sure we can offer them.

So the options: Luiz, Mustafi and Mari as the ‘experienced’ CB’s and Sarr and Saliba are the youngsters. It just lacks a reliable name like Lewis Dunk.

5 CB’s is probably enough for a season – especially with Tierney capable of filling in at LCB and Saka at LWB.
